On Monday morning, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry claimed that Ukrainian forces had shot down the 300th Russian fighter jet.
According to the ministry, any Russian military aircraft that violate our airspace or targets our citizens is a legitimate target for our air defense forces. Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, praised the crew for bringing down the plane on Sunday.
Zelensky commented in his Sunday sermon: “Today I am extremely grateful to our men from the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade who shot down another enemy plane near Avdiivka.”
Ukraine wants air defense equipment.
The Ukrainian government had been pressuring its partners in recent months to provide them with modern air defense systems.

As the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on Monday, kyiv forces had shot down 2,048 Russian drones in total—the Ukrainian military claims to have shot down 288 helicopters and 300 enemy planes.
