One year after the invasion of Ukraine

Moscow – If Ukraine is allowed to join NATO, it could lead to World War III. Alexander Venediktov, who is the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, told them this on October 13, 2022.

“Kyiv knows full well that taking such a step would almost certainly lead to World War III,” Venediktov told the TASS news agency.

“It looks like that’s what they do to make information noise and get people’s attention again,” Venediktov said.

Venediktov also said that Russia still believed that the West was directly involved in the conflict because it was helping Ukraine.

The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Kyiv had officially applied to join NATO’s fast-track membership program at the end of September.

It happened after Russian President Vladimir Putin held a ceremony in Moscow to say that four parts of Ukraine that Russia partially occupied were now part of Russia.

In response to Ukraine’s request to join NATO, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the final decision would be made by all alliance members.
