State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stated: “At this time, we can confirm the deaths of nine American citizens.”
“We can confirm that there are missing American citizens, and we are working with our Israeli partners to determine their whereabouts.”
Hamas attacks kill 800 in Israel.
The Hamas terrorist group has killed more than 800 in Israel. The Ministry of Health has reported that 2,506 people are hospitalized due to injuries sustained.
Of these patients, 23 are in critical condition, while 353 have serious injuries. Rocket attacks affected Ashdod and Ashkelon, leaving multiple people injured.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service has been treating the victims, including an elderly man in serious condition.
Hamas announces death of Israeli hostages.
The spokesman for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, Abu Obeida, reported through his Telegram channel that four Israeli hostages died as a result of the bombings in the Gaza Strip.
“The bombings tonight and today in the Gaza Strip led to the death of four prisoners and the sacrifice of their captors, the Qassam Mujahideen,” said Abu Obeida.
Call for unity from the president of Israel.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog visited the Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and highlighted the nation’s resilience and bravery. “What I have observed here exemplifies Israeli strength and courage,” he noted.
In a public speech, Herzog said: “Israelis demonstrate fundamental values of solidarity, mission and social cohesion.” In turn, he sent a strong message to Hamas: “They will not succeed in undermining our security. They will not defeat us. “Your strategy will not succeed.”
