President Joe Biden underscored the need for all countries to condemn Hamas’s brutal atrocities unequivocally.
The White House released a statement Tuesday night summarizing President Joe Biden‘s call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“This afternoon, President Biden and Vice President Harris spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu to update him on US support for Israel. The president explained that he had just been briefed by the national security team about him. “He detailed US support that had arrived or would soon be on its way to include munitions, Iron Dome interceptors, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, and other defense material,” the statement said.
“The president stressed the need for all countries to unequivocally condemn the brutal atrocities of Hamas, which are similar to the ISIS atrocities of many years ago.” “The prime minister provided an update on Israel and the spirit of the Israeli people as they come together to protect their country and its people against Hamas and all other threats,” he added.
The statement concludes by noting that the two leaders agreed to speak again in the coming days. Also, on Tuesday, US President Joe Biden gave a speech to the American people and the world focused on the Hamas terrorist attack in Simchat Torah, in which more than 1,000 Israelis were massacred.
He noted that the United States has a special interest in the war against Hamas for the sake of its own citizens. “We now know that there are American citizens among those held by Hamas. I am directing my team to share intelligence information and deploy additional experts from across the United States government to consult and advise their Israeli counterparts on hostage recovery efforts. Because as president, I have no higher priority than the safety of Americans held hostage around the world.”
“Let me say again, any country, any organization, anyone who is thinking of taking advantage of this situation, I have one word: Don’t do it. Don’t do it,” Biden said.
Following Biden’s speech, the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group arrived in the eastern Mediterranean. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement, “in order to deter any actor attempting to escalate the situation or expand this war.”
Also, on Tuesday night, a plane loaded with advanced weaponry landed at the Nevatim air base in southern Israel. The weaponry facilitates major military operations and increases readiness for other scenarios.
“We appreciate the United States’ support and assistance to the IDF, and the State of Israel in general, during this difficult period. Our common enemies know that cooperation between our militaries is stronger than ever and constitutes a key piece in ensuring regional security and stability,” stated the IDF Spokesperson Unit.
