IDF troops killed several armed Islamists who had crossed the border from Lebanon into Israeli territory.

The Israeli army has launched a series of attacks in southern Lebanon in response to the recent infiltration of several armed Islamists into northern Israel.

According to reports, a journalist from the Al-Manar media outlet linked to Hezbollah has published an image showing a large explosion in the area. Likewise, a clip showing a Hezbollah observation post being attacked by Israeli forces has been spread on social media.

Previously, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it was using combat helicopters to carry out attacks in the area after its troops killed several armed Islamists who had crossed the border from Lebanon into Israeli territory.

Additionally, the IDF reported that two mortars were launched from Lebanon toward northern Israel, activating warning sirens in the Upper Galilee towns of Iftach and Ramot Naftali. Fortunately, the projectiles caused no injuries on the Israeli side, and one of them fell into Lebanese territory.

A Hezbollah official has denied involvement in the cross-border raid in which Israeli forces killed several gunmen after violating the ceasefire line, as reported by Reuters.

Separately, the Israel Defense Forces have launched massive airstrikes on a coastal neighborhood of Gaza City. The IDF describes this area, nicknamed al-Furqan after a local mosque, as a “nest of terror” used by Hamas to launch attacks against Israel. Dozens of fighter jets have participated in these attacks in what appears to be a forceful response to escalating tensions in the region.
