He urges the Arabs of Jerusalem and interior Israel, the Negev, Galilee and northern Israel to “set fire to the land under the feet of the occupiers.”
Mohammad Deif, Hamas military commander, issued a statement claiming that the ongoing attacks are retaliation for the Israeli “desecration” of the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
He adds that Israel has killed and wounded hundreds of Palestinians this year and has rejected prisoner exchange offers.
More than 5,000 missiles were fired, Deif claims.

He urges the Arabs of Jerusalem and interior Israel, the Negev, Galilee and northern Israel to “set fire to the land under the feet of the occupiers.”
It also asks the “Islamic resistance of Lebanon, Iraq and Syria”—countries with terrorist movements that have military support from Iran—to “merge their resistance today with that of the Palestinians” and “start the march towards Palestine now.”
Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of Hamas and considered its leader in Judea and Samaria, stated the same effect, calling on Arab and Islamic nations to join “Operation al-Aqsa Flood.”
